IMPORTANT: Your license/ID expiration date remains the same when you receive a duplicate; it only updates upon its renewal.
If you receive a notification informing you that your driver's license or state ID has been unlinked from your account, and you didn't unlink it yourself, this is most likely not an error. This is likely due to the LA Wallet system detecting that your account is not linked with your most recent, valid license/ID.
- If you get a duplicate or renew your license/ID, LA Wallet requires that you remove your now old license/ID and link the new one that you were issued.
If you do not update your license/ID after receiving a new one, the previous license/ID will eventually be unlinked automatically. This is generally why you will receive a notification informing you that your license/ID has been unlinked from your account if it was not done by you. You will need to link your most recent license/ID to your account to keep using the LA Wallet app.
