Your online renewal eligibility is determined by the OMV's automated system. If you receive a renewal notice in the mail, you are eligible for online renewal along with mail-in renewal but you can only renew through one of the options. Additionally, if your email notifications are turned on for the LA Wallet app, you will receive an email 30 days before, 7 days before, and the day your license/ID expires letting you know if you are eligible for online renewal through the app.

Unfortunately, if you’re ineligible for renewal through LA Wallet, you will need to visit an OMV location in person for your renewal. Online renewal eligibility cannot be changed and is final.
