Key Information

• Primary & Secondary vehicle owners can now renew.
• Owners can now update the physical and mailing address for their vehicle registration when renewing.
• Digital renewals process in 2-3 days; physical copies are mailed within 30 days. Timing varies based on the renewal day and cutoff times, with weekends possibly causing delays.
• Renewal fees exceed driver's license and state ID fees, costing $50-200+ plus a $23 convenience fee. Late renewals may incur additional penalties. 

Instructions

1. For vehicles expired or expiring within 6 months, click the Renew Now button on the listing to begin renewal.

2. Tapping Renew Now will take you to the Confirm Address page, displaying the mailing address on file for their registration. After reviewing, you can tap the Confirm Address button at the bottom to proceed.

• UPDATE: The change address feature is currently unavailable at this time for vehicle registration renewals while we complete an update for it. It will be restored as soon as the update is finished. Please visit your local OMV office for your renewal if you would like to change the physical and/or mailing address for your registration. 

3. After confirming your address, review the registration details and fees associated with your renewal as well as view and agree to the Terms and Conditions.

• For renewal fee inquiries, contact the OMV.

• If you see the following prompt, you will be unable to renew through the LA Wallet app. Please visit the OMV's website HERE to see about renewing your vehicle registration or visit an OMV office in person.

4. After agreeing to the terms, the user taps Checkout $[Total Amount] to go to the Elavon payment page for renewal purchase.

5. Once the payment has been approved, they will see a Payment Approved prompt with next steps.

6. After successful payment, the user will receive an email confirmation with key information.

7. Once the payment has been approved, the vehicle in the listing will show a Pending Renewal banner within the Vehicle Listing as well as the Vehicle Details. This will persist until the digital renewal has completed in 2-3 days, in which case the pending banner will no longer remain, and the vehicle status will update to Valid and display a new expiration date.
