Key Information
- LA Wallet will only work with your most recent issuance of a Louisiana driver's license or state ID as long as your license is not listed cancelled in the OMV's system.
- When a new license/ID is issued, a new audit number is given. LA Wallet requires you to use the most recent audit number.
- If you do not have your physical license/ID you can still link it if you have most recent license/ID information as you can type the information into the app. However, you can't link it in the LA Wallet app if you have neither. You will have to visit an OMV office to get a new license/ID, then use it to link in the app.
- Only one license or ID can be linked to a LA Wallet account at a time. Additional licenses or IDs must be linked on a separate LA Wallet account.
- Enter your license/ID details exactly as shown, including middle names, initials, or suffixes.
- LA Wallet supports only class A, B, C, D, E driver's licenses or Temporary Instruction Permit (TIP), and class I state IDs. Other classes, including Handicap ID or Mobility Impaired ID cards, cannot be linked. The LA Wallet app does not support cards not listed in the app.
Instructions
1. Tap the Home tab then tap the Add License button.
2. Enter your information manually or tap Scan License Barcode at the top to scan the barcode on the back of the license/ID for best verification. (Note: Do NOT use the Scan tab at the bottom menu to add your license/ID; it only verifies, not adds it.)
3. Once all license/ID details are entered, scroll down and tap the Add License button at the bottom.
- Fill all boxes marked with a red asterisk (*).
4. Once your license or ID is linked to your LA Wallet account, tap Tap to View to see your license or ID details. You can also add other cards and access other LA Wallet features.
